Description

Drama. This work portrays the life of Camille Claudel, mistress to the famous French artist Auguste Rodin and sister to the French playwright Paul Claudel. As an artist herself, Camille is betrayed by the men surrounding her and most of her art is destroyed. Her brother and lover ultimately institutionalize her in the asylum where she dies. This story has been told before, but never with as much poetic force, as the author explores the multitude of truths surrounding this unique artist, as well as of all artists who are locked in the turbulence of creativity. Fiona Templeton is the founder of London's Theatre of Mistakes in addition to being an experienced performance artist and author.
